Ashbury - Endless Skies

One look at this album cover lays all the cards on the table, but trust me, it’s not as silly as it looks. Ashbury was formed in the late 70’s by a bunch of good ol’ boys in Oklahoma but had relocated to Tuscon by the time this came out in ‘83. There’s a mild NWOBHM tone to a lot of these songs, but the southern influence shows up quite often which is what makes this a pretty unique record. For me, the goofy wizard imagery and themes on Endless Skies are easily overlooked. I’ll probably have this on my wanted list for many years to come as this is long out of print.
